| Eastside - What to Expect |
|
On Sundays: When you arrive for Sunday worship (11:15 am), you can expect a warm welcome. Greeters will give you a bulletin and a hymnbook and you can choose a place to sit. Spaces are set aside for those in wheelchairs. Please mention other needs to the greeters.
During worship, we will give you directions about the service, but don't worry if you are a bit lost; it happens on a first or second visit. Feel free to be yourself. Some people laugh in worship; others cry and some just take the hour to relax. Let the time be what you need. Early in the service, children will go to Sunday School with our wonderful Christian Education minister, Jenni, and other teachers. Other children and toddlers may stay in worship, move around, and play at the Kids' Craft Table. On the last Sunday of each month, we celebrate Communion and Healing Touch with Prayer. Everyone is welcome. Join us for a potluck on the last Sunday of the month. Feel free to ask anyone about the congregation or grab a newcomer bag from the glass stand near the entrance doors. Our ordained minister, Dawn, is also available for conversation. On Weekdays & Saturdays. When you visit Eastside during the week, Diane, our Office Manager, will welcome you. Diane can help you contact our minister or give you the information you need. You are also welcome to come and sit in the sanctuary (church) and just relax. Note that the church is closed over the lunch hour on weekdays. If you are coming on Saturday, call ahead to be sure that someone is here. NOTE: If you want to be on our mailing list, contact the office. Membership and newcomer envelopes are also available in the church on Sunday mornings. |
