Church School:

An active and attractive Church School is not only a necessity for young families but is fundamental to our mission.  Our Church School is enriched through a shared program with the Lutheran Sunday School.  This joint programming is a demonstration of our shared ministry and provides enrollment numbers that make age groupings manageable.

Youth:

Everybody says the Church 'needs' youth.  We have to be careful not to view youth as the future of the 'survival' of the church as we know it.  Youth are the church now!

St. Philip provides youth a community that creates an atmosphere of mutuality and trust.  At St. Philip, youth are trusted to offer leadership now and for the future, not just a seat in the congregation.  We offer:

  • participation in shared Living Spirit Centre youth opportunities, events and activities;
  • shared youth group events within the Anglican diocese, provincially and nationally;
  • periodic inter-generational worship;
  • opportunities for youth musicians;
  • opportunities for youth leadership development; and,
  • availability of confirmation classes.

Music Ministry:

At St. Philip music is an integral part of worship.  We continue to strive to develop the diversity of music within worship.  We build on the opportunities afforded to us as one congregation at the Living Spirit Centre.  We offer:

  • a Living Spirit Centre Children's Choir;
  • a St. Philip Senior Choir; and
  • talented youth and young adults who periodically come together to play instruments at worship services.
